Smoking and E-cigarettes Behaviour during COVID-19 Pandemic: A Scoping Review

Objectives: Smoking increases the risk for severe COVID-19 outcomes, which may reduce smoking activity among smokers. However, anxiety, stress, and boredom, especially during lockdown, increase cigarette consumption pandemic despite worrying complications. This study aimed to review changes in tobacco electronic behaviour following explore cessation campaigns, programs, or promotions this period.Methods: A search was conducted on EBSCOHOST PubMed using keywords of (COVID-19 OR "Novel Coronavirus" "2019 novel coronavirus" 2019-nCoV SARS-CoV-2) AND ("Smoking behaviour*" "smoking cessation" "quit smoking" e-cigarette "electronic nicotine delivery systems" cigarette" vaporiser vaping). The inclusion criteria include articles English language reported cigarettes COVID-19, any campaigns support within timeline before, after lockdown.Results: total 196 were screened. Upon completing exclusion criteria, 35 included involving subjects aged 12 86 years. Among articles, 25 had described behaviour. Most smokers did not significantly change their pandemics. about one-third reduced amount. e-cigarettes, them reviewed. users consumption, while a done USA demonstrated 44% reduction.
